I need a new business name...and I need it kinda fast.
I have called a web designer and I need to get some business cards printed up very soon.

Here's the deal.
Although I LOVE the name Pink Fifi Portraits, I am only one of a very few bunch that feel that way.
I get comments a lot that people just don't get it and it's hard to remember. A lot of people think it sounds pornographic.
(That's crazy, but whatever.....gutter brains.....)

So, I am hoping to get some valuable feedback from you, my loyal readers.
Yes, all three of you.
I figure, at this point, you should have a pretty good idea of who I am.

Here are a few samples of my work to give your brain a step in the right direction.
Ruth and Jeff
Matthew and Andrew
Lori Lyn

Does seeing these paintings and knowing me make a name or a logo pop into your head?
Try to avoid the obvious, such as "Basketcase of Mediocrity", as I will be trying to gain business with my new name,
not scare the hell out of people.......
or make them think of porn.

Think it over, and if you have any ideas please feel free to share them with me, either here through the comment option, or through my e-mail:
(Please put: Contest in the subject line so I will be sure to read it.)

Now, I did mention it was a contest, right?
That's because, if I end up using a name that is submitted by one of you, you will win....
An absolutely FREE 16X20 headshot portrait, similar to this lovely one of my friend Darlin to be finished 6 months from the date of receiving reference photos.
(I will pay shipping costs up to $25.00.)

Even if you are not a fan of my work it might make a good gift, right?

What!? No 'Easel Like Sunday Morning'? No 'Easel Down the Road'? No 'Pop Goes the Easel'?! Glen will be a little hurt but I'll tell him to keep thinking...

What I think of when I look at your portraits are real life. Not the posed and artificial kind that come to mind for a lot of people when they think of a portrait or sitting for a portrait. So my submissions are "Real Life Portraits" or "Portraits in the Moment"
That's all I got right now. But I might be back later,

What about "Living Color"?
I think you should keep Pink Fi Fi as a division of your larger portrait business. Pink Fi Fi Pet Portraits. I don't know if you've ever seen Bark magazine, but if you ever run across a copy, flip to the ads in the back. I can just see a little ad using the dog image that you have here.

Hey Anessa,

I like Pink Fifi. Who cares if nobody "gets it"; you're an artist!

However, if "the man" is forcing you to change your name, let me suggest Martin's Anagram Generator at

I punched in "Anessa Arehart" and got back these beauties (out of hundreds):

Earnest Sahara
Eastern Sahara
Ten Arse Sahara
Arena ashes art
Arena ashes rat
Arena ashes tar
Arena aster ash
As An Aster Hare
Sans Earth Area
Art Has An Erase
Heart Sans Area

Here are a few generated by "Pink Fifi Portraits:

Partition skiff rip
Spin-off trip air kit
Stinkpot friar if pi
a Pontiff spirit irk
Rip-off ain't trip ski

Sorry for the pseudo-creativity. Those of us w/o artistic game have to use gimmicks.

A- I love your new profile pic! You look gorgeous! It also looks like you have a thought bubble that says you'd like a Miller Lite.

How about Baboon Portraits? Since some of you clientele will be local, you may do a portrait of one of your "admirers". Inoffensive, non-pornographic, yet a little joke on the side. Plus, you have a ready made mascot or logo.

Or not.

Ha ha....I'm a little worried the clients may think I"ll paint them to look like monkeys.
Nice thought though.... Glad to hear from you...
been a while!

As a fellow Pink Fifi, artist and libra, I can't make any other suggestions than to say that Pink Fifi is superior to all others.
